Board of Trustees
The Board is the governing body of the BayTrust and currently has 12 members. They are appointed by the Minister of Finance for a four-year term.
The Board has among its members a balanced representation from throughout the Bay of Plenty and community, investment, legal and financial expertise to assist the Trust to achieve high governance standards.
Responsibilities
The Board is responsible for the policy direction of the BayTrust. This includes strategic planning, budgets and the Investments and Donations Policies. It delegates the day-to-day management of the Trust to the Trust Manager.
Code of Conduct
The Board operates under “Team Guidelines” designed to ensure any Trust-related matters can be discussed openly, frankly and confidentially. Trustees are obliged to identify any potential conflict of interest they may have in dealing with community, investment or other matters.
Committee Structure
The Board had three standing committees; Admin / Investments; Dillon Scholarship and Sports.
