I have held a number of community and professional positions including being a Trustee of the Ngati Whakaue Education Endowment Trust. I am currently a Member of the Survey Board of NZ.

I am a partner in the law firm McKechnie Quirke and Lewis specialising in Civil Litigation. I am also a Board Member of the Bright Economy Advisory Board. The role of the Bright Economy Board is to provide leadership communication, advice, evaluation and facilitation in respect of the Rotorua Regional Economic Development Strategy.
I am a former School Board Trustee and PTA member and have served on a number of committees relating to Early Childhood Education.
I am married to Tim Rigter, who is the General Manager at Red Stag Timber Limited and we have two children, Katie and Marc, who are both at John Paul College.

Having completed a business degree and spent a number of years in the corporate sector, I established my own consultancy business "Better Marketing Solutions Ltd" in 1999 and also set up and co-own a Sports Academy in 1998, which is based at Rotorua's International Stadium.
Born & bred in Rotorua, where I have settled with my wife and three children, I have a keen interest in rugby and youth development. I currently have large work commitments in Maori Health and I am involved with several community organisations.
